The successful candidate is expected to work independently on the lab course teaching and practicum associated with Medicinal Botany and Processing of Chinese Materia Medica. The appointee will also assist the scientific research in the field of pharmacy in Chinese medicine under the direction of the appointee's supervisor. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for the management of herbal garden and laboratory facilities.

Applicants should have a recognised bachelor's degree in Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine with at least one year of relevant work or training experience. A master's degree or PhD in subjects relevant to the aforesaid areas will be a definite advantage. Applicants should be hard-working, flexible, a good team-player and can work under pressure. The ideal candidate should have good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.
