Senior Information Technology Officer (Customer Services/User Support)(Role: End User Computing) (23241197)

Position Description

Reporting to the Senior Information Technology Manager (Customer Services/User Support) of Office of Information Technology, the appointee will provide the first line of support to the University community in the use of IT services for the purpose of teaching and learning as well as a business operation.

Responsibilities:

Provide with assistance from sub-team members, ongoing support and maintenance of IT facilities (both hardware and software) related to the provision of user services;
Provide effective resolutions to issues and problems relevant to the provision of user services;
Provide technical support and problem solving to VIP users;
Review existing services and recommend new/enhanced services to meet evolving user demand;
Provide system support on Microsoft Office 365, Windows 10/11, Apple Mac OS, browser and mobile application;
Investigate and analyse technical problems escalated from the IT Service Desk;
Collaborate with IT team, users, external vendors to manage the assigned IT projects; and
Perform ad hoc assignments and responsibilities requested by supervisor.

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related discipline;
Minimum 4 years or above of relevant work experience;
Technically strong in supporting Windows/Mac OS/Linux, video-conferencing, PC hardware and network cabling;
Excellent problem-solving skills with a technology-driven and analytical mindset;
Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work under pressure; and
Independent, self-motivated, quick learner, good team player, a strong sense of responsibility and able to work under pressure.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review and mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
