Analyst Programmer (Special Project) (23241295)

Reporting to the Senior Information Technology Manager, the appointee will be assisting in the implementation and integration of higher education systems such as Student Information, eLearning, Research Output, Hostel Management, etc. which form the core domain knowledge base of the team. The appointee should have a strong knowledge of system design, development, testing as well as first-line user support experience.

Responsibilities:

Map and document interfaces between legacy and new systems, ensuring seamless integration and efficient data transfer;
Perform various software development lifecycle tasks, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance;
Develop innovative solutions and undertake product development;
Create and maintain comprehensive testing documentation for complete systems, ensuring rigorous quality control and adherence to project timelines;
Produce user manuals for users of new systems, facilitating smooth adoption and maximising system utilisation; and
Perform other IT projects and assignments as assigned.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred;
At least 2- 3 years of work experience with a focus on software development and system integration;
Proven knowledge of software development lifecycles and methodologies in Student Information, eLearning, Research Output, and/or Hostel Management;
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex system issues;
Strong hands-on solid proven experience in the following development languages/tools is a must: PHP, Java, PowerBuilder, SQL, MS Power Platform, and ETL tool. Knowledge in ServiceNow, Salesforce is a plus; and
Possess solid written and verbal communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences, and strong commitment-to-task.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years.Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
