DotAsia Organisation (https://www.asia) operates the “.Asia” top-level domain (TLD) as part of the core Internet infrastructure with global market presence through our extensive worldwide channel partner network (https://www.dot.asia/asia-registry/becoming-a-asia-accredited-registrar/#dotasiaAccreditedRegistrars), as a not-for-profit organization (DotAsia Foundation: IRD 91/12820).

Every .Asia domain registration contributes to funds and support for international community initiatives that create social impact in and beyond Asia Pacific, and has been recognized by the global Internet community (e.g. https://NetMission.Asia, https://APrIGF.Asia, https://EcoInternet.Asia, etc.).  Since 2011, DotAsia has been supporting the Macau government in the operations of the .MO ccTLD.  Since 2022, DotAsia also supports the development of the global .KiDS domain.

DotAsia is a dedicated team working collaboratively internally and with our partners.  At DotAsia, we value diversity, entrepreneurial spirit and an enjoyable working environment that cherishes each person’s unique contribution.  We are seeking an all-rounded technically savvy team-player as an Internet Technology Manager, to help manage and maintain our technical systems (websites, mailing lists, web applications, office network, DNS and related systems, etc.) as well as to engage in system development and deployment projects with partners.  In this flexible role, you will be working autonomously within a team to develop, maintain and secure our systems and websites.

Job Description:

  • Development, operation and maintenance of external facing websites, email, and systems as well as internal servers, files, databases and applications
  • Managing in-house systems, office network, monitoring, backup/recovery, and externally hosted systems
  • Provisioning staff computers and providing IT support to a small team of staff as needed
  • Administering, implementing measures and maintain documentation for technical operating procedures and systems security
  • Manage and liaise with partners, vendors and system integrators
  • Support and oversee systems testing and deployment where needed
  • Develop and support systems for data analysis in support of market and community initiatives

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager, Developer, Systems/ Network Administrator and/or similar role
  • Associate or higher degree in a related field
  • Solid experience with Linux/Windows Server, Apache, Nginx, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SendMail/Postfix/SMTP, etc.
  • Knowledge of VMware, Docker and/or other server virtualization technologies would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of shell and other script for backup and recovery procedures, system monitoring, load-balancing, antivirus, and mail server administration etc.
  • Working experience with cloud and Internet hosting platforms (WHM, cPanel, AWS, Google Cloud, Google Workspace, etc.)
  • Experience with CMS, CRM, PHP, HTML, CSS, JS, Python scripting and open source tools
  • Adept with Windows and Mac desktop operating systems
  • Knowledge of Internet networking technologies, Internet addressing, and Domain Name System (DNS)
  • Knowledge of the Domain Names Industry is a PLUS advantage (Domain Name registry operations, the registry-registrar model and protocol, TLD zone files, IDNs, DNSSEC, etc.)
  • Knowledge on Social Network Platform API is a plus
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English
  • Self-motivated, inquisitive, independent, all-rounded with good multi-tasking abilities
