Our client is a US-found international logistics and safety service provider. They are looking for a Commercial Manager to join their team. In this role, you will be fully accountable for the operational, commercial, and budgetary aspects of the Department's business, ensuring that set objectives and performance targets are not only met but surpassed.
Your new role
- Drive and consistently enhance revenue and operational performance targets for the Department.
- Oversee managers to ensure effective training for both new and existing staff.
- Foster staff engagement and inspire employees to cultivate a team-oriented culture.
- Assess the performance of direct reports regularly.
- Provide coaching to the Sales, Customer Service, and Operations teams on executing the business plan effectively.
- Engage frequently with Senior Managers to implement the country's strategic initiatives.
- Focus on improving departmental profitability and efficiency through ongoing process enhancements.
- Ensure operations and customer services are conducted securely, safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards and procedures.
- Develop the annual budget and capital expenditure plans for the Department.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree from supply chain, logistics or relative experience.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management operations, preferably as account management/project P&L management in freight forwarding or logistics industry
- Experience in import/export operations and customs
- Experience in a fast-paced, competitive, corporate-quality-aware environment
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Demonstrated managerial and leadership skills
- Good in commercial, account management, and business development are ideal.
- Skilled at working culturally, in developing relationships with colleagues globally
