(This is a fixed-term contract position of 2-year with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.)

The IT Specialist, End User Computing will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance for end user computing devices and software on both MS Windows and Apple MacOS. This role will assist the team lead to manage the outsourcing vendor to provide end-user support and desktop administration for all stakeholders and VIP users in the Authority.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • planning and leading projects related to endpoint management software including MS Windows and Apple MacOS plus M365 applications;
  • designing, implementing, and managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security settings, software deployment, and user configurations across all Windows endpoints;
  • providing technical support and assistance to end users for hardware, software, and network-related issues related to M365 applications such as Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive;
  • investigating and analysing complex technical problems escalated from the IT Service Deck, utilizing advanced troubleshooting techniques and tools specific to M365;
  • collaborating with the onsite support team to provide guidance and knowledge transfer, ensuring effective resolution and enhancing their technical skills;
  • assisting in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for end user computing support specifically focusing on M365 applications;
  • collaborating with vendors, external service providers and other internal IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to end user computing, escalating unresolved issues as necessary;
  • staying updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, recommending innovative solutions to enhance user experience and productivity;
  • assisting in the procurement of end-user computing hardware, software, and peripherals, ensuring alignment within the Authority’s standards and cost optimization; and
  • assisting in the development and delivery of end user training programs and documentation to promote effective and efficient use of technology resources.

You Should

  • possess a recognised degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field;
  • have a minimum of 5 years of experience in providing end user support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of computing devices and M365 applications and MacOS applications;
  • have strong technical knowledge and experience with M365 applications, including Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive. Relevant certifications and training in M365 applications are a plus;
  • be proficient in investigating and resolving complex hardware and software issues related to M365 applications for end user computing devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals;
  • have strong customer service and interpersonal skills;
  • be proactive and self-motivated approach to learning and keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends;
  • have ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines;
  • have solid domain knowledge with one or more of the following: Windows 11, MS Office, Exchange, Intune, JAMF, MacOS, Active Directory, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 with Azure Multi-tenant setup, etc;
  • possess Microsoft 365 Certified is a plus, such as Endpoint, Messaging, Teams, Identity and Access or Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate; and
  • have familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) processes and tools, such as incident management and service desk systems.
