Social Media Assistant

JOB DUTIES:

• To assist in developing public engagement strategy and driving community outreach initiatives to enhance the public understanding of the work of the Hong Kong Police and foster support from local community.
• To assist in writing textual contents for posts to be put on Force social media platforms, especially WeChat and Weibo, considering the collaboration of Social Media Communication Section staff.
• To work with the Media Designer on graphical design with a view to better packaging posts to be put on social media platforms for utilizing their attractiveness.
• To stay up to date with digital marketing trends from research and agencies updates.
• To optimize social media content in respect of the message, tone, graphic and video based on the behavior of the target audience.
• To explore potential topics on social media platforms, with a view to uphold the professional and positive image.
• To response to comments and questions related to the posts in a respectful and timely manner.
• To track and report on social media insights, such as traffic, engagement, conversion rates, shares etc. for regular evaluation and to make enhancement upon review.
• To assist in publicity activities related to social media platforms; and
• To perform any other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Have a Hong Kong Degree, or equivalent, disciplines related to Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Business Administration, Marketing or Journalism preferred.
• Have attained Level 4 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent.
• Have excellent written English and Chinese.
• Be able to speak fluent English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
• Have at least 3 years of relevant and solid experience in public relations, media relations, corporate communications, journalism and community engagement, with the use of mobile applications, digital platforms and/or social media platforms.
• Have excellent knowledge of administering content on WeChat and Weibo.
• Be proficient in software applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge on software applications in graphics design and editing, experience in the graphics design and editing considered an advantage.
• Have good presentational and interpersonal skills.
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be a good team member with creativity and dynamism, attention to details, and able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Be able to plan, execute and manage projects independently to achieve the communications goals; and
• Have high adaptability to an environment of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.
