High School Mathematics Teacher

Job Purpose (Overview)

Teachers are expected to regularly reflect and research up-to-date teaching strategies for continuous improvement, for their own, and students’ benefit. 

Teaching at The Harbour School assumes a role beyond the classroom. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work and communicate collaboratively within a team, assist with the holistic development of students and the school, and be open and willing to undertake duties in addition to their teaching duties. 

We are seeking to add to our team and invite applications for passionate High School Mathematics Teachers to apply;

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creating an environment that is conducive to active and participatory learning, resource-based
  • Design and implement lessons and units of instruction, and assess student learning and instructional effectiveness.
  • Participate in the implementation of collaboratively planned learning experiences by providing group and individual instruction, assessing student progress, and evaluating activities.
  • Evaluate, promote and use existing and emerging technologies to support teaching and learning, supplement school resources, connect the school with the global learning community, communicate with students and parents.
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Teaching role in the Advisory program.
  • Perform any other professional duties required by the Head of School and the Co-Principals.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in education; or
  • Bachelor Degree in the relevant subject with PGCE or equivalent 
  • Relevant subject-matter teaching experience 
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a school

Preferred

  • Previous experience or familiarity with American education system 
  • Additional subject area experience including, but not limited to, business, economics, psychology 
  • Previous experience with Google suite
