Position: Software Engineer

Role Overview:  

We are looking for a motivated and innovative Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to building high-performance web applications and services that drive ESG investment decisions. As part of our mission to integrate AI-driven analytics into sustainable finance, you will play a critical role in developing software solutions that enable financial institutions to make data-driven investment decisions based on ESG factors.  

This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about solving complex technical problems, thrive in a start-up environment, and are eager to contribute to a meaningful mission that aligns finance with sustainability.  

Key Responsibilities:  

• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications and services using modern programming frameworks.   
• ESG Data Integration: Collaborate with ESG analysts and AI specialists to integrate ESG data and analytics into our software solutions.   
• Agile Development: Work in an agile environment to deliver new features and enhancements that align with ESG investment strategies.   
• Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices for software development, including object-oriented design.   
• Testing & Debugging: Conduct unit testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure the reliability of deployed applications.   
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including ESG research analysts, AI specialists, and product managers, to define requirements and deliver impactful solutions.   
• Framework Development: Assist in building frameworks for sustainable investment strategies, ensuring seamless integration with regulatory and reporting standards.   
• Performance Optimization: Optimize applications for low-latency, scalability, and high availability in a 24/7 operational environment.   
• Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and present technical solutions to internal teams and external stakeholders.   

Basic Qualifications:  

• 2+ years of experience in software development.   
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, JavaScript ES6, or C#, with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming.   
• Familiarity with data structures, algorithm design, and problem-solving techniques.   
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.   
• Experience working on Linux systems.  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Experience with modern frameworks like ReactJS and NestJS/ExpressJS.   
• Hands-on technical experience with building high-performance, scalable distributed systems.  
• A willingness to dive deep, experiment rapidly and get things done.  
• Recognize the difference between building software and shipping software.  
• Track record of shipping software or project efficiently.  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for stakeholders.  
• Basic understanding with financial engineering tools and ESG investment principles.  
• Knowledge of AI/ML applications in financial technology is a plus.  
• Understanding of ESG factors and their impact on financial markets is advantageous.
