We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to be the first dedicated hire in our multi-manager hedge fund client in Hong Kong office. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and scale our data infrastructure from the ground up.

The ideal Lead / Senior Data Engineer must have a strong passion for data architecture and will lead the development of robust data systems to support operational and investment decisions.

MUST :

• Experience in building data pipeline / data system from scratch
• Python and AWS

PLUS if you have experience / familiar with:

• Financial Data System
• Data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
• Machine learning pipelines and advanced analytics.
• Bloomberg API or other financial market data sources.

Role :

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable data pipelines for a multi-manager trading strategy.
• Manage structured and unstructured data systems from various sources.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, analysts, and developers to address data needs with technical solutions.
• Implement data quality measures, monitoring systems, and anomaly detection for ongoing improvement.
• Lead data projects and contribute to the strategic development of data engineering capabilities.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL pipelines , and data warehousing techniques
• Programming proficiency in Python , Scala, or Java.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka
• Familiarity with data orchestration tools like Airflow
