Senior Compliance Officer


Shopline Payments Limited is looking for a Senior Compliance Officer based in Hong Kong to serve as the Compliance Officer (CO) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for Shopline Payments regulated entity in Hong Kong. This role will be part of Shopline Payments Global Compliance team.


What the Senior Compliance Officer will be doing:


Reporting to the Head of Compliance based in Singapore, this position is responsible for the overall AML and regulatory compliance of Shopline Payments regulated business in Hong Kong and will serve as the CO and MLRO.


The core responsibilities for this role are as follows:

  • Serve as CO and MLRO to act as the primary point of contact for AML/CFT and regulatory matters to C&ED of Hong Kong.
  • Maintain and enhance AML/CFT framework in line with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance, Cap. 615 (AMLO) and payment partners' requirements.
  • Responsible for identification and reporting of suspicious transactions (STR), including maintenance of proper records on all investigations and reviews based on trigger events, TM alerts or escalation channels, provision of additional information where required by Joint Financial Intelligence Unit (JFIU) and law enforcement agencies.
  • Support license renewal applications or ad-hoc trigger events to the C&ED and handle AML/CFT and regulatory audits.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Business, Legal, Risk and Product to support global compliance programs including Enhanced Customer Due Diligence, Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions, Customer Risk Rating, Institutional Risk Assessment etc..
  • Work closely with relevant functions to address communications and RFIs from clients and payment partners in relation to compliance matters.
  • Provide accurate and timely advice to Business over AML/CTF and regulatory requirements;
  • Keep abreast of changes in AML/CFT regulations and ensure timely updates to policies and procedures.


Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Finance, Banking, Audit, Business or related discipline.
  • Minimally 8 years of experience in a regulatory or compliance function.
  • Experience in a regulated financial or payment industry as a CO/MLRO interfacing with regulator is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of payment services related regulatory requirements is an added advantage, such as C&ED MSO Guidelines and other payments regulations across APAC(e.g. Singapore and Taiwan) will be advantageous.
  • Experienced in implementing compliance solutions of transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, AML scoring and screening.
  • Experienced in drafting and implementation policies and procedures.
  • Self-motivated individual who loves working in a fast-paced environment and multi-tasking under pressure.
  • Good written and verbal English, Mandarin and Cantonese communication skills.
  • CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or ICA (International Compliance Association) qualifications are preferred.
