  • Improves laboratory tests and processes by applying new instrumentation, automation, and fixtures.
  • Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as instructed.
  • Responds to user requests for repairs or modifications of laboratory instrumentation and systems.
  • Records observed or calculated data on appropriate forms for laboratory support activities.
  • Plans and evaluates laboratory support activities as directed.
  • Builds, installs, tests, and validates new instrumentation and systems to meet requirements.
  • Ensures compliance of test systems with safety regulations and local laws.
  • Prepares technical documentation, including manuals and calibration procedures.
  • Trains others on laboratory instrumentation and integrates continuous improvement concepts.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Works to manage existing laboratory equipment, calibration and quality assurance activities.


  • Associate degree or certification as a technician from a recognized organization.
  • At least 4 years of experience in calibrating and supporting lab instruments and automation.
  • Good knowledge of equipment in the conformity assessment industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals and operational documents.
  • Capable of writing routine reports and business correspondence.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
  • Trustworthy and honest individual.
