Who You Are:

We are seeking a talented Back-End Software Engineer with 2-5+ years of experience to join our global engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and supporting back-end services using languages such as Java (Spring Boot, Vert.x) or Python (Flask, FastAPI).

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable back-end systems to support Galaxy’s diverse business lines (e.g. Custody, Defi, Trading etc).
• Collaborate with globally distributed cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Optimize and improve existing systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Automate business workflows to increase operational and capital efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.

What We’re Looking For:

• 2-5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on back-end development.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python and/or other languages used for back-end development.
• Experience with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and ORM frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Interest in Cryptocurrency and building the future.
• Fluent in English.

Bonus Points:  

• Experience working in Traditional Finance or Cryptocurrency supporting trading, middle-office or back-office systems.
• Experience with containerization and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with the full lifecycle development of a commercial system, including: requirements definition, agile planning, releasing, and production support
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development best practices.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture and event-driven design.
