Responsible for tax matters in Hong Kong. Support senior tax director in overseeing adidas local units’ tax compliance with local tax laws as well as adidas’ internal policies in the region. Contribute to the achievement of department targets & culture.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first tax point person to external tax consultants and internal Functions on tax filings and administrative matters.
Take the lead in driving the tax filing of all offices under coverage in an efficient and compliant manner, including reviewing tax computations and returns, handling correspondence with the relevant tax authorities, and providing technical support to Office Managers in different sourcing offices.
Evaluate tax implications and make recommendations in case of ad hoc queries from internal clients, new business initiatives/projects, legislation changes, legal structure topics, etc.
Assist in tax planning strategies and implementation and tax risk management.
Liaise with tax authorities and government departments, where necessary.
Keep abreast of the latest tax and compliance regulations in relevant jurisdictions and ensure that internal processes and policies are in compliance.
Promote tax risk awareness and compliance culture within the internal organization within the region.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong analytical, presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
Solid project management experience would be an advantage
Chinese typing skills would be an advantage
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
Degree or above in tax, accounting, or related discipline and with a minimum of 6 to 7 years in Big 4 tax practices and/or in a major MNC
Solid exposure to regional tax, investment, foreign exchange, and cash management
Be able to work proactively, independently, and efficiently
Excellent command of both spoken and written English
