- Position Title: Application Modernisation & Maintenance, Consultant (Operations Platform)
- Department: IT – Application Modernization & Maintenance
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery, Solution Design, and Implementation (60%)
- Technical Leadership: Lead the strategy and direction of the technical solution, working closely with offshore resources.
- Project Management: Oversee project development to ensure successful system implementation within the agreed timeline and budget.
- Collaboration: Work with business users and analysts to understand requirements related to business logic, validation, and processes.
- Feasibility & Solution Design: Conduct feasibility studies, design solutions, and evaluate them.
- Documentation & Tracking: Ensure the project deliverables are met on time and review specifications for business alignment. Assist with project documentation like schedules, status reports, and rollout plans.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct code and SIT reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Vendor Management and Support (25%)
- Vendor Management: Monitor vendor performance, ensuring smooth development implementation.
- Cost Management: Ensure cost-effective implementation.
- Technical Support: Analyze and resolve technical issues, providing advice for solutions.
- End User Support: Handle inquiries and provide technical assistance to end users.
Other Responsibilities (15%)
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure deliverables meet AIA HK standards for architecture, security, and infrastructure.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other tasks as assigned by managers to meet project objectives.
Financial and Non-Financial Measures
- Key Metrics: Adherence to deadlines, accuracy of work, user feedback, system availability, and problem-solving skills.
Communication Requirements
- Internal (80%)
- Regular discussions with users and stakeholders about requirements, design approaches, and testing.
- Present IT solutions to users and coordinate progress updates with the team.
- External (20%)
- Meetings with external partners, vendors, and business partners for operational IT matters.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Degree: University/College graduate in Computing/IT or a related discipline.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience.
- At least 3 years in the insurance industry (preferably with knowledge in claims operations).
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role leading a development team.
Specific Skills
- System Development Life Cycle: Strong understanding of all phases of SDLC.
- Technical Expertise: Full-stack experience, including ReactJS, Java EE, Spring Cloud, and Drool frameworks.
- Cloud Technology: Experience with Azure Cloud technology is a plus.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working in an agile environment with Scrum/Kanban is required.
