Overall Role

To achieve excellence in preventative and reactive maintenance programs incorporating industry best practice, innovative maintenance techniques and statutory and contractual compliance. Oversee the day-to-day management and control of all plant, mechanical and electrical systems and co-ordinate the remedial action in the event of critical incidents. To provide supervision and direction to multi skilled Engineering Operations and teams made up of directly employed staff and appointed vendors. Ensure that all staff and vendors employed within the client’s facilities strictly adhere to client and JLL’s policies and procedures. Reports to the DC Site Lead.

Major Responsibilities

  • Ensure site operations, including incident management and escalation in accordance with approved Client/JLL procedures.
  • Plan, assign and supervise planned and reactive activities utilizing the CMMS platform.
  • To check on site repair and maintenance carried out by subcontractors to ensure work completion.
  • Ensure the implementation of safe systems on site activities.
  • Implement regular inspections of the facility on energy conservation, maintenance practices, utility management and risk management procedures.
  • Co-ordinate meetings periodically with contractors to ensure that required standards are established and maintained, and develop corrective action plans when, or if performance falls below
  • Provide training to on-site teams on equipment operational procedures, including emergency procedures and requirements.
  • Co-ordinate and maintain the site asset database, provide updates in accordance with CMMS requirements.
  • Prepare and provide input to the site’s monthly reporting for client.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations on fire, health and safety standards.
  • Ensure all safety procedures, including Crisis Management/ Business Continuity and Emergency Procedures are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that maintenance documentation meets the required standards and sufficient information is provided to operate an effective asset management regiment.
  • Participate in site reviews, including maintenance standards, equipment replacement, security, change control, single points of failure, Tier adherence and operational risk.
  • To perform additional tasks as required by the Site Lead.

Ideal Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or operational engineering discipline.
  • Registered Electrical Worker or equivalent.
  • Data Centre certification
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centre or critical facility.
  • Critical environment experience within similar sized site or operation.
  • Experienced with continuous improvement initiatives and preparation of reports.
