Company background


The Company is a well-institutionalised family office co-located in Hong Kong and Singapore that has been investing globally in traditional and alternative asset classes for several decades. As the family office manages third generation wealth, the financial portfolio (rather than the operating business) is the Principal’s core focus.


The Company is looking to recruit an Accountant. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to have the opportunity to be in a role that enables them to gain broad experience at an early stage of their career across a number of areas including company-level accounting / bookkeeping, portfolio level accounting across multiple asset classes, treasury functions, and regulatory / compliance matters.


The atmosphere is collegiate, and teamwork is essential. The Company emphasises the training and development of people, and the development and implementation of institutional quality best practices.


Accountant responsibilities (under the supervision of the Accounting Manager)


·        Accounting, bookkeeping and reporting for multiple entities within the group.


·        Assist with investment execution in terms of fund subscriptions and coverage of all upfront and ongoing AML, KYC and other tax/regulatory requests (e.g., CRS, FATCA, Economic Substance).


·        Prepare financial statements and work with outside tax, legal and regulatory advisers to file timely tax and regulatory reports.


·        Prepare monthly bank and administrator reconciliations.


·        Prepare administrative reports as the need arises including but not limited to reports, filings and other documents associated with corporate secretary and other administrative responsibilities.


·        Prepare and process intra-company and third-party payments.


·        Keep management apprised of significant issues as they arise.


·        Communicate with external parties e.g., banks, brokers, fund managers, administrators, custodians, corporate secretaries, registered agents, and tax, legal and regulatory advisers.


Candidate qualifications and skills


·        High degree of honesty, integrity, and discretion.


·        Good analytical skills and a strong passion for accounting and reporting.


·        Interest in learning both about accounting across multiple asset classes, as well as regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.


·        Diligent with a good work attitude, good communication skills and team spirit.


·        Comfortable working effectively and independently in a family office environment.


·        Fluent English with strong verbal and writing skills; Cantonese and/or Mandarin helpful.


·        University graduate, accounting major.


Working hours


Working hours are 9am to 6pm with one hour for lunch. Overtime is to be expected periodically as per industry practice, commensurate with deadlines as they arise.


Remuneration


Compensation includes monthly basic salary plus an annual discretionary bonus depending on company and individual performance.
