About Us:

Astera specializes in designing, developing, and producing high-quality stage lighting solutions used in film, photography, music concerts, and major events. We are looking for a skilled Senior QC Manager to lead our quality initiatives during the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase at our Shenzhen manufacturing plant.

Job Summary:

As the Senior QC Manager, you will take ownership of quality control during the NPI phase. You’ll work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and suppliers to develop quality plans, evaluate prototypes, establish standards, and ensure the quality of our products aligns with customer expectations. This role requires a strong technical background and experience in managing quality control for complex, high-mix products, including electronic, mechanical, and firmware components.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

Quality Planning: Develop and implement quality plans for new products, setting inspection processes and acceptance criteria.

Prototype Evaluation: Conduct inspections and tests on prototypes, providing feedback to improve product design and functionality.

Establishing Standards: Define and document quality standards for new products to align with overall development strategies.

Supplier Quality Assurance: Assess and qualify suppliers, ensuring consistent material quality and resolving any quality issues.

Pilot Production Oversight: Monitor pilot runs to address quality concerns before mass production, collaborating with production teams to make necessary adjustments.

Customer Feedback Integration: Analyze customer feedback on new products to refine quality standards and enhance future products.

Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team input on quality processes during the NPI phase.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:


1 Bachelor’s degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or related field.

2 Advanced degrees or certifications in Quality Management (Six Sigma, ISO 9001, CQE) are a plus.

Experience:

3 3-5 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment.

4 Proven experience in quality management during the NPI phase, including product testing and validation.

5 Familiarity with industry-relevant manufacturing processes like machining, assembly, and electronics.

Skills:

6 Technical Expertise: Proficient in quality inspection techniques, statistical process control, and root cause analysis.

7 Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO standards, GMP, FDA requirements).

8 Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions quickly.

Leadership and Communication:

9 Supervisory Skills: Demonstrated team management capabilities, with a focus on motivating and developing team members.

10 Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for effective interaction with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

11 Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers to promote a quality-focused culture.

Preferred Certifications (Optional but beneficial )

Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
