About the Centre for Asian Philanthropy and Society (CAPS)

Since its establishment in 2013 in Hong Kong, the mission of CAPS has been to improve the social investment sector in Asia by identifying and disseminating best practices, models, policies, and strategies that contribute to positive community and systemic change. With a presence in and a strong network throughout 18 economies, CAPS has become a pre-eminent thought leader in private social investment in Asia. CAPS influences the adoption of rigor and tools in the charitable sector and works closely with philanthropists and corporate donors to enhance the impact of their investments. 

CAPS is seeking to hire a full-time Marketing and Events Manager  with extensive experience in project management and events organization, as well as strong marketing, media relations and partnership development skills for the Hong Kong office. The role will report directly to the CAPS Director of Communications and work closely with the Events and Communications Assistant Manager. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and execution of conferences, workshops and events, both in-person and virtual, including managing event logistics and CAPS partners and vendors
  • Assist in the execution of integrated marketing and communications strategies that leverage CAPS’ research to enhance brand, visibility and impact
  • Assist in the development of strategic partnerships for CAPS events and networks 
  • Collaborate with media and agencies for effective outreach, including assisting in media relations-building and pitching 
  • Produce and edit marketing collateral and communications content, including press releases and social media content
  • Analyze the effectiveness and engagement metrics of marketing and social media activities
  • Manage and maintain the CAPS website and, with the support of an external vendor, assist with the enhancement of CAPS website user experience (UX) and user interface (UI), implement SEO best practices to improve website visibility and search engine ranking to optimize content

Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related disciplines
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in PR /media or events agencies or related corporate sector
  • Excellent English and Chinese verbal and written communication skills are essential, fluency in Mandarin is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in events and project management and execution of marketing campaigns 
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills 
  • Ability to work independently and implement projects across teams with limited supervision
  • Strong multi-tasker, reliable, detail-oriented, proactive, creative, resourceful
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and proficiency in graphic design/video editing are strong advantages 
  • While non-profits experience is not a must, the candidate should demonstrate a strong interest in CAPS’ research and mission
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
