What We Need
Summerbridge Hong Kong is a non-profit organization which creates unique educational opportunities for highly motivated, but socioeconomically underprivileged secondary school students in Hong Kong. Each summer, a group of talented student teachers from local and overseas high schools and universities teach and administer an intense five-week, English-learning program, in which they inspire and mentor local students.For more information, please visit summerbridge.org.hk.
What We Have
Teachers undergo two weeks of training workshops to prepare them to design their own curriculum, teach their own classes and evaluate student performance. Throughout the training and the duration of the Summer program, experienced Summerbridge teachers are available to provide support and guidance.

What We Do
Founded in 1992, Summerbridge Hong Kong is a non-profit organization, which creates unique educational opportunities for highly motivated, but socioeconomically underprivileged secondary school students in Hong Kong. It provides comprehensive year-round programs to develop students’ English communication, self-confidence, and interest in the learning process through an intensive English Language Development curriculum, small class size, individual mentoring, and hands-on learning strategies. Each summer, the students are immersed in an intense five-week, English-only environment, in which they are taught and mentored by a highly qualified group of international student teachers from local and overseas high schools and universities. The uniqueness and quality of the program results from its "students teaching students" model, offering older students the opportunity to teach and administer programs to younger students in a dynamic learning environment where young people are both the initiators and beneficiaries of the educational process.
What We Need
- Looking for students aged 16-22, who are enthusiastic for youth and community service and are proficient in English
- Attend a 2-week teacher training program
- Design and teach a 5-week course
- Design activities and assess students' performance over the summer
