To prepare, check and update structural drawings, sketches and details
To undertake the design of minor structural elements manually or by means of computer under the direction of the Contract Manager (CM) or the CM’s Representatives
To prepare site sketches for construction and amend structural drawings under the direction of the CM or the CM’s Representatives
To assist the CM or the CM’s Representatives in carrying out tests and inspection of structural works on Site
To co-ordinate structural, civil, geotechnical, architectural and building services drawings
To liaise with professionals, technical officers and site staff of the Housing Department, consultants and contractors where appropriate, on matters related to the design and construction of the project
To prepare estimates, site instructions for construction for the CM or the CM’s Representatives
To assist with the research of building materials for use in the Contract and where applicable, their costs and sources of supply
To arrange for printing and distribution of drawings among Housing Authority Headquarters, ICU, other offices outside Headquarters and site offices to ensure smooth transmission of drawings
To assist in updating as-built record drawings
To assist in processing application for Excavation Permit
To perform other duties as directed by the CM or the CM’s Representatives
To hand technical problems arising from site difficulties and/or discrepancies in drawings and where appropriate referring such matters to the CM or the CM’s Representatives for direction
Job Requirements
Diploma / Higher Certificate or above in either Civil / Structural Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or equivalent
Experience in drafting and preparation of structural drawings together with good knowledge of Building Regulations and Code of Practice
Good command in English and Cantonese/Mandarin
Proficient Skill in AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel
Successful candidate will be seconded to work in Housing Department’s office
Monthly salary will be ranging from $24,380 to $42,575 (depending on related working experience and extra working hours)
Contract period: 24 months
