As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a Director of Sales - Asia (Paper Division) to spearhead sales operations, drive revenue growth, and strengthen Vectus’s market leadership across Asia. 


Job Overview  

The Director of Sales – Asia (Paper Division) is responsible for leading and executing sales strategies for Stocklot, Prime, and Scrap Paper across the Asian market. This includes expanding market share, building key partnerships, managing a high-performing sales team, and driving revenue growth.  


The role requires a proven leader with deep knowledge of the Asian paper industry, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to drive high-value transactions.  


Key Responsibilities 


1. Sales Strategy & Market Expansion  

- Develop and execute a regional sales strategy for Asia's paper market to drive revenue growth.  

- Identify new business opportunities, high-potential markets, and emerging trends.  

- Design and implement competitive pricing models based on supply-demand dynamics.  

- Expand Vectus’s footprint by targeting converters, mills, distributors, and wholesalers.  


2. Sales Team Leadership & Management  

- Lead and manage a team comprising:  

  - Country Sales Managers for different Asian regions.  

  - Commodity Traders specializing in Stocklot, Prime, and Scrap Paper.  

  - Business Development Managers & Key Account Managers.  

- Set performance metrics and sales targets for each team member.  

- Provide mentorship, training, and leadership development.  


3. Client Relationship Management  

- Build and maintain long-term relationships with mills, converters, packaging manufacturers, and key buyers.  

- Negotiate and close high-value contracts to ensure sustainable business growth.  

- Provide exceptional customer service and account management to drive repeat business.  


4. Competitive & Market Intelligence  

- Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demands to develop effective sales strategies.  

- Maintain an updated database of paper suppliers, mills, and potential customers.  

- Adapt business strategies based on real-time market insights.  


5. Contract Negotiation & Pricing Strategy 

- Lead contract negotiations with key buyers and suppliers.  

- Develop pricing structures that balance profitability and competitiveness.  

- Work closely with the finance and legal teams to ensure compliance with international trade regulations.  


6. Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination 

- Collaborate with the Head of Supply Chain & Logistics – Asia to ensure on-time deliveries and efficient order fulfillment. 

- Troubleshoot supply chain issues, including customs, documentation, and logistics challenges.  

- Optimize sales operations by improving inventory planning and stock allocation.  


7. Revenue & Profitability Management  

- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets are met or exceeded.  

- Identify new revenue streams within the paper industry.  

- Develop strategies to improve margins, reduce costs, and enhance profitability.  


8. Reporting & Compliance  

- Provide detailed sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to the Chief Sales Officer (CSO).  

- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and international trade laws.  


Qualifications & Experience Required  

- 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, or trading in the paper industry.  

- Deep expertise in Stocklot, Prime, and Scrap Paper trading.  

- Experience in commodity trading, key account management, and high-value negotiations.  

- Proven ability to scale revenue, expand into new markets, and build strong client relationships.  

- Strong leadership skills with experience managing regional sales teams.  

- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.  

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Sales, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred).  

- Fluency in English is required; additional Asian languages (Hindi, Japanese, Chinese etc.) are a plus.  

- Ability to travel extensively across Asia.
