Responsibilities

  • Handle various accounting tasks including but not limited to: accounts payable and receivable operations, financial analysis, annual audit, tax filing, month end-closing and daily reconciliations
  • Manage the daily operations as directed by designated managers so as to allow the designated managers re-allocating more time on time critical projects
  • Supervise the relevant teams of Finance & Accounts Department in the delivery of services, providing guidance and support
  • Develop, coordinate and review budget, forecast and monthly variance analysis in a timely manner
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all financial reporting in accordance with company accounting policies. Ensure the maintenance of accounting systems and procedures which guarantees the accurate presentation of financial results.
  • Effectively collaborate with lawyers, partners and other stakeholders
  • Participate in ad hoc tasks/projects, analysis and assignments as required by the Firm
  • 6-month contract


Qualification / Person Specification

  • University graduate in Accounting or other relevant disciplines
  • Holder of professional certifications such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
  • A minimum of 10 years solid finance and accounting experience, preferably gained from MNC within the legal industry or professional services sector and at least 5 years in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, practices and regulations
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting
  • Familiar with legal accounting software and systems commonly used in law firms, such as Aderant Expert, or similar platforms
  • Understanding of the legal industry, including its unique financial dynamics, billing models, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to lead, manage and coach an accounting team
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills and able to work with all levels of local and regional management
  • Excellent presentation skills to convey financial information to non-financial professionals in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong time management, mature and independent
  • Strong command of spoken and written English and Chinese
