Major Responsibilities:
- Reports and needs strong technical finance and accounting skills to support the Head of FAD.
- Requires the ability to deputize for the Head of FAD and takes on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Should have experience in various aspects of finance and accounting, such as general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, cash flow forecast, budgeting, operational planning, etc.
- Provide value-add support to enhance the knowledge, skills and competency of team members.
- Gate keep all financial reporting processes of the Sections and the Foundation as a whole.
- Needs good project management and collaboration skills to work closely with both external and internal stakeholders.
- Liaises with the Education Department, Inland Revenue Department, bankers and auditors as required.
- Ensure accounting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and best practices consistent with the requirements of the auditors and the government authorities.
- Oversee the company secretarial function, including the preparation of board papers and minutes.
- Develop and implement procedures to streamline operations in enhancing business processes and ensuring proper control and compliance. Assists in introducing best practices to maximize efficient use of resources.
- Perform ad hoc projects and assignments as required.
Requirements:
- Degree or above in finance and accounting or related disciplines.
- A minimum of 10 years solid experience in Finance and Accounting preferably gained from Education sector or sizable organizations, with not less than 3 years in leading an accounting and financial reporting team.
- Qualified Accountant with HKICPA/ACCA or equivalent.
- Committed to supporting teaching and learning through prudent financial management working in a collaborative environment.
- Self-initiative, well-organized, good business acumen with strong leadership, interpersonal and people management skills.
- Proficient in MS application and experience in automation and finance transformation.
- A good team player and able to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Excellent written English and Chinese.
- Verbal fluency in English and Cantonese preferred.
