Applications are invited for appointment as Mobile Application Developer/Senior Mobile Application Developer, to commence as soon as possible. 

The appointee will join the Laboratory of Data Discovery for Health (D24H), a start-up company incorporated by The University of Hong Kong (HKU) that is led by senior faculty members of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine at HKU.  The D24H sets to play pivotal role in gathering and curating massive, unique data resources and to develop new, deep, frontier analytics in protecting global public health and improving individual healthcare through precision medicine.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the complete mobile (Android & iOS) application development life cycle, encompassing design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation;
  • Ensure the applications meet specified performance, quality, and responsiveness standards;
  • Provide assistance and guidance to the team in system design and development;
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver services and achieve project milestones and deadlines; and
  • Communicate with project teams and/or clients to gather requirements effectively.
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Android mobile application development;
  • Proficiency in Java/Kotlin and Swift is essential;
  • Experience in RESTful API, SDK, and BLE communication protocol is a must;
  • Good knowledge in AWS/Azure cloud technology is preferred;
  • Proficient in using Github for source control;
  • Familiar with various mobile development platforms like Flutter or React Native would be an added advantage; and
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Applicants with more experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Mobile Application Developer.
