My client, a leading multi-strategy hedge fund, is hiring for an Application Support Specialist to join their team in Hong Kong, in a regional role. Reporting to the Head of Tech you will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities

• Maintain the smooth operation of trading systems and applications and be the main point of contact for all internal and vendor trading application incidents.
• Liaise with internal and external support teams for all escalation processes and complex issues.
• Form in-depth relationships with regional trading teams and related middle office/operations teams, as well as external vendors to understand specific requirements and how best to service them.
• Be responsible for documentation on troubleshooting processes and escalation procedures.
• Take the lead in vendor system upgrades and testing, conduct regular system checks and performance reviews

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial technology support, preferably in a hedge fund or investment bank environment
• University degree in Computer Science, or related discipline
• Strong understanding of trading operations and common trading application platforms
• Solid experience with electronic trading platforms and in-depth knowledge of vendor trading systems and extensive experience managing vendor relationships and escalation processes
• Good knowledge of SQL, APIs, and common trading protocols (e.g., FIX) as well as Citrix
• Experience working with both Windows Server and UNIX/Linux environments with familiarity in Perl/Bash/Python scripting
• It will be highly advantageous to have knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data protection regulations
• Formidable problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot intricate, multi-system issues
• Strong communication skills, with an innate ability to translate and describe technical issues and solutions in layman's terms
