Position Summary & Objective

The Assistant Buyer will support the procurement team by assisting in purchasing activities, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

Essential Functions Performed by the Position

•Help in preparing and placing purchase orders as directed by senior procurement staff.

•Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery of materials.

•Aid in maintaining accurate inventory records for raw materials and packaging.

•Assist in monitoring stock levels and alerting senior staff when reorders are necessary.

•Communicate with vendors to confirm order details and delivery schedules.

•Help resolve any discrepancies in orders, including reconciling purchase orders and invoices.

•Maintain accurate system data for purchase orders, including lead times, prices, and order quantities.

•Update vendor and item information in the procurement system.

•Assist in gathering data for procurement-related metrics and key performance indicators.

•Help conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and pricing trends.

•Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the procurement team.

•Maintain organized records of procurement activities and documentation.

•Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to the supply chain function.

•Suggest improvements to processes and procedures to enhance efficiency.

•Perform other duties as assigned by the senior procurement staff.

Position Qualifications

Education:

•Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

•Relevant coursework or certification in supply chain management is a plus.

Experience:

•0-1 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or a related field.

•Internships or academic projects related to supply chain management are advantageous.

Certifications/Licenses:

•None.

Language Proficiency:

• Fluent in English.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•Strong Microsoft Office experience with an emphasis in Excel.

•Must have working knowledge of Excel formulas, pivot tables and graphing.

•Experience with ERP and/or advanced planning systems

•Familiarity with inventory control philosophy and practices
