My client, a multi-billion dollar AUM global hedge fund, are looking to hire a function COO / business manager, specific to their equities front office.


This front office role (supporting the firm’s FO research function), is a newly-created stand-alone position, providing a fundamental intermediary between the firm’s equity investment team and the economists / broader research team. By understanding the needs / priorities of the investment team, the hire will manage the daily delivery / output of the research team - effectively acting as ‘project manager’, the hire will be working on long term initiatives, but also super time sensitive work. Key to being successful is prioritising, managing and delegating work (looking at problems, fixing issues, managing projects, longer term goals etc.) correctly to have the most positive impact for the investment team. The remit of the role extends to closely supporting leading portfolio managers directly – a hugely exciting opportunity to work closely to industry leading equity investment professionals.


Candidates should ideally have 5-10yrs relevant experience. We can be flexible around the background that candidates come from. For example, an IB equities business manager with a technical skillset can be just as relevant as somebody in an IB performance / portfolio analytics team + we can consider an individual working for an analytics team at a data vendor, or an individual working in data analytics for a major consulting firm.


For this key hire, my client has the budget to a) offer the hire a very attractive step-up on current base salary, b) provide the hire with a sign-on bonus / a sizeable minimum guarantee bonus for this year, c) the hire will be part of the front office bonus pool, meaning that a strong performer can earn a 100% performance bonus.
