Position OverviewDetails of the Division and Team:

The Investment Bank has a large global research footprint, that both stands in its own right, and provides support broadly to one of the world’s leading financial institutions. The Asian Company Research team provides equity research to clients in Asia and globally. The Team is looking for self-motivated individuals to join the Company Research to lead coverage i n China’s Financials sectors.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze financial and macro data and predict their future paths and impact on (and of) macro policies.
  • Build economic models, write reports and give presentations
  • Provide insightful analysis of business cycle and structural shifts.
  • Engage with external and internal clients during meetings (including overseas) in person and via (video) calls

Role is required to be performed primarily on-site at the International Commerce Centre. Relevant health and safety requirements may apply.

Your skills and experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working as macro analyst in financial markets and/or as an economist.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Greater China economy.
  • Deep understanding of economic theories and the macro data and policy impact on financial markets.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis/econometrics specifically Econometric modelling
  • Prior experience in big data handling
  • Knowledge of database tools: CEIC, Haver, Reuters, Bloomberg, and other financial databases; various central bank and statistical websites.
  • Ability to work well in a team
