The Department
The Corporate Affairs (CA) Division strengthens the strategic development and positioning of the Club as a world-class racing club and charity organisation, through engaging key stakeholders in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, and maintaining efficient and effective corporate communications.
The job holder supports the development and implementation of the Club's racing and other communications strategies in order to uphold and strengthen the Club's positioning as a world class racing and charity organisation, and to fulfil its purpose of “acting continuously for the betterment of the society” through its unique integrated business model.
Reporting to Senior Manager, Public Affairs (Language Services), the incumbent delivers translation on racing and other areas as assigned by the Senior Manager. He/she is also responsible for supporting the implementation of effective publicity programmes for simulcast race days and races to support the publicity and promotion of the Club's simulcast business.
The Job
You will:
- Translates a full-range of racing reports including racing incident reports on race days at the racecourses
- Produces racing publicity materials including racing information and press releases on local and simulcast race days/races
- Supports the execution of operation of the Language Services Team to provide effective translation, editing and Chinese language consultancy services for all departments of the Club
- Supervises junior team members in designated assignments
- Supports the implementation of development plan of the Language Services Team to enhance the output quality and operation efficacy
About You
You should have:
- University degree in translation or language-related disciplines or equivalent qualifications
- A minimum of three years' experience in translation, journalism and/or related field
- Professional level of proficiency in translation and writing skills in both English and Chinese
- Literacy in MS Office and Chinese word processing applications
- Knowledge and interest in the sport of horse racing are preferred
