Qualification: -

• The Contract Field Officer shall possess a diploma or higher certificate in Natural or Applied Science or a related subject from a Hong Kong polytechnic/polytechnic university or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; or a recognized diploma from an agricultural or forestry school/college, or equivalent, and
• Five year’s practical experience in site supervision and soft landscape monitoring; and
• Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) or equivalent.
• Must be fluent in written and spoken English and Cantonese. Fluency in Mandarin is not mandatory but preferred;
• Holder of Certified Arborist or equivalent is required;
• Good knowledge in planting and construction are required
• The Contract Field Officer shall pass selection interview(s) conducted by the Supervising Officer or his Representatives
• The CFO should possess a valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) and is required to carry out site inspection, site meeting and site measurement periodically related to the project.

Work Responsibilities:-

• The CFO shall provide technical and onsite supervision services under the direction of the Supervising Officer or his representative.
• Monitor landscape contractor’s progress according to the agreed programme, identify reasons of delay and advise the Supervising Officer or his representative on necessary regulatory actions, and make recommendations on the technical matters.
• Prepare monthly progress and management report, forecast site supervision resources requirement and prepare any other draft report with respect to hard and soft landscape works.
• Attend site and co-ordination meetings.
• Inspect and witness on-site and off-site tests on landscape works, check soiling/ planting/ maintenance materials (on-site and off-site including holding/transit nursery), and make recommendation to the Supervising Officer or his representative.
• Prepare and/or check site measurements of arboricultural and soft landscape works for submission to the Supervising Officer or his representative.
• Assist in the vetting of the landscape variation works.
• Report to the Supervising Officer or his representative and identify remedial action for any damage to landscape works (including preserved/transplanted trees and soil contamination) by the Contractor, or by others.
• Assist in preparing defects/snag lists, supervise and inspect rectification (including replanting) works for completion & compliance
• Carry out all such other duties as and when required by the Supervising Officer or his representative.
• Attend nursery visit (local and overseas) for plant selection, and supervise and monitor the maintenance works at the on-site nursery/holding nursery for all related planting works of the Project.

Working Hours

45 hours per week inclusive of one hour lunch break on weekdays:- Monday to Friday : 08:45 to 17:45
