Your Role

  • Implementation of all relevant risk management policies and procedures, together with adequate risk management systems, to identify, measure, manage and monitor risks appropriately, on an on-going basis.
  • Provision of regular risk reporting to the business functions and management team on the effectiveness of the risk management framework, and on operational risk related incidents, and any relevant mitigation actions.
  • Assist and manage meeting agenda and materials for the various APAC legal entity RMC meetings and APAC regional RMC meetings.
  • Challenge the business as to the appropriateness, effectiveness and completeness of its internal controls, risk mitigations plans and related progress.
  • Manage and maintain APAC regional risk policies, procedures and committee charters (when applicable) ensuring alignment with global standards and conformity with applicable regulations, regulatory expectations and guidelines.
  • Assist the AP Snr. Operational Risk Officer to build strong relationships and partner with the business to provide operational risk advice and support for business-driven initiatives and objectives (i.e., risk advisory services).
  • Assist the AP Snr. Operational Risk Officer on operational risk initiatives, activities and reporting.
  • Promote and foster a focus on innovation, continuous learning and improvement for all aspects of Operational Risk Management in APAC including appropriate leverage of technology and data analytics

The Experience You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk or relevant discipline, advanced degrees and/or accreditations beneficial.
  • 5+ years experience within the risk management function in a financial services organization, preferably an asset management company.
  • Demonstration of professional knowledge of securities and finance, operational experience and leadership ability.
  • A good understanding of operational risk frameworks, methodologies, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of different asset management products, and a good understanding of front to back investment processes,
  • Solid understanding of internal control standards for appropriate design and effective execution.
  • Adheres to the highest standards of ethical behaviour and conduct.
  • Good numerical sense and strong analytical skill.
  • A self-motivated, critical thinker with strong interpersonal and communication skills (English, Cantonese and Mandarin), adaptable to business change with an ability to manage multiple priorities, and proactively engage with a diverse group of stakeholders in multiple locations and time-zones.
