About This Role

As a Site Reliability Engineer of WeLab, you will be working in an energetic team to deliver feature-rich and technology-driven software applications and systems in a fast-growing FinTech business. You will create a bridge between Development, DevOps, Infrastructure and Tech Operations. You are responsible for system availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning.

What you’ll do and what success looks like in this role

• Operate, monitor, and maintain high availability of software services running in cloud environment
• Work with engineering teams to refine deployment and release processes
• Support operations at all-encompassing layers from the infrastructure to the application
• Work with the development and product team to establish the right monitoring and alerting strategy for applications
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues, and work with the infrastructure team and development team to resolve issues and propose technical/process recommendations for improvement
• Collaborate with engineering teams to automate management and orchestration tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions
• Incident management to minimize the impact on the live production environment
• Participate in stress test systems to collect metrics for tuning and capacity planning
  
  
  

What Is Required And What We’re Looking For

• Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines
• At least 3 years of experience in VM and container management using Docker, Kubernetes, Racher, EKS
• Proficiency with public cloud deployments, preferably AWS
• Experience in working with AWS RDS services or RBDMS administration and writing SQL
• Experience setting up and tuning monitoring to efficiently detect and predict issues, using tools such as Dynatrace, Kibana, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience in message queue such as ActiveMQ
• Hands-on experience in coding with languages such as Java, Python
• Hands-on experience in production deployment and release management
• Experience with CI/CD methodology and their tools such as Git, ArgoCD
• Exposure to Linux environment and advanced knowledge and experience of automating / scripting tasks is essential
• Experience with logs management and analytics like ELK stack, etc
• Understanding of network security best practices including subnets, VPN, firewalls, and load balancing
• Fluent written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
