TRANSDISCIPLINARY PROGRAMME OF DIGITAL FUTURES AND HUMANITIES (DIFH)

This transdisciplinary programme educates forward-looking graduates who will be well-versed in essential knowledge of humanities and digital technologies, as well as capable of integrating them for i) innovative management of digital cultural resources, ii) critical analysis and development of innovation policies to foster positive impact of technology deployment across the social environment with diversity, and iii) managing innovation projects with strategic consideration of human factors for successful digital transformation. Assistant Professor/Associate Professor (one to two positions) (24250074)

The Programme invites applications for one to two tenure-track positions at the Assistant and/or Associate Professor levels. We seek candidates with expertise in any of the following fields: general digital humanities, digital research methodologies, computational humanities, digital history or history with a strong quantitative or digital component), visualisation and humanities, digital libraries and archival-based research, or cultural or economic impacts of digital technologies. We are especially looking for candidates interested in bridging humanities with digital technology. Applicants with a strong international research record, a history of securing external research grants, and a substantial contribution to the fields will be given preference.

Responsibilities:

• Teaching assigned courses and developing suitable courses;
• Conducting and publishing high-quality, impactful research;
• Supervising honours projects; 
• Developing the field of digital futures and humanities for the university; and
• Undertaking administrative duties as appropriate to the level of appointment.

Requirements:

• Hold a PhD in Digital Humanities or closely related fields;
• Demonstrate a solid publication record or a promising research agenda; and
• The new hire can teach some of the following courses for DIFH, such as AI and Digital Futures in the Humanities and Digital Humanities Methodologies.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

The remuneration package includes retirement/gratuity benefits, annual leave, medical and dental scheme, housing assistance and relocation allowance wherever appropriate.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
