A Brief Overview
Director, Regional Accounts Manager is part of the APAC Global and Regional Accounts ("GRA"), manages and delivers client and sales support for the Global Accounts Strategic Relationship Manager and the Regional Relationship Manager ("General Managers") in Asia Pacific, assisting them in their responsibility for making RGA the most trusted and valued reinsurance partner for assigned Global and/or Regional Account clients, earning privileged access, and positioning to support top client Global Account and Regional Account objectives. This includes supporting global and regional client initiatives as well as regional business development in Asia Pacific, helping to identify actions and opportunities to further develop client relationships and leading operational processes to ensure effective execution. Director, Regional Accounts Manager will support the General Managers to develop and maintain in-depth understanding of the global and regional account clients and working with global, regional, and local business unit stakeholders to ensure a complete view of client relationships and ensures RGA delivers the highest form of client engagement. Director, Regional Accounts Manager can communicate effectively and work collaboratively with global, regional, and local business unit stakeholders across a diverse range of roles and in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
- Develop, maintain information on key regulations and trends of the insurance and reinsurance markets as well as on reinsurance competition landscape in which assigned Global / Regional Accounts clients operate. Support the General Managers on the development and delivery of thought leadership and/or business insights that reinforce RGA’s positioning with the client as leading market experts
- Responsible for creating and maintaining Asia Pacific regional view of assigned Global/Regional account clients, including RGA’s business relationships, key client contacts, and the clients’ strategies, financials and operational objectives. Support activities to prepare for client meetings with senior executives at client companies. This includes developing internal briefing material and developing external client presentations that inform (as appropriately) RGA strategies, existing business relations and RGA’s capabilities and offerings on key topics across markets. Monitor internal and external client developments and support General Managers in proposing proactive steps to help enhance client relationships as a result of the developments. Work with the General Managers to plan, coordinate and manage responses to global or regional client initiatives (such as global/regional Requests for Proposals) to ensure RGA’s response is professional and reflective of the organization’s capabilities. Develop processes and lead activities to ensure effective internal collaboration and awareness of client key business, development, and relationship initiatives.
- Leads and manages sales support for assigned Global and Regional Accounts clients to help enhance and develop relationships. Leads process to develop client plans ensuring coordination and alignment with RGA’s Asia Pacific offices, and assists the General Managers in the development of specific client plans that identify the key business and relationship initiatives to pursue jointly in support of mutual objectives for assigned Global/Regional Account clients
- Support the General Managers to deliver seamless interactions and customer service. Manage clients Global/Regional BAU requests or quotations including CAT quotes. Develop and maintain infrastructure for internal alerts on emerging issues with clients that may affect Global / Regional relationship. Maintain strong, positive, collaborative working relationships with global, regional and BU RGA colleagues to ensure effective communication and alignment in all Global and Regional Account client interactions
- Leads activities to enhance the quality of internal reporting, including developing and maintaining related infrastructure and ensuring information are up to date to facilitate analysis, decision making and performance monitoring of all Key Client Initiatives (business & relationship) at the global, regional and local level. Support in monitoring performance of key in force business treaties vs. expectations. Collect and analyze client feedback from wide range of sources (e.g. 3rd party evaluation and market share information, directly provided feedback, feedback collected through colleagues or other sources) to maintain ongoing view of RGA positioning with assigned Global Account clients vis-à-vis competitors
- Provides additional support to the Global Accounts team and for other global/regional initiatives as required
Qualifications
- University degree in business or commerce
- Other qualifications such as an MBA, CFA, CA or actuarial studies
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)
- 8+ years of management experience, including experience in the (re)insurance or financial services industry
- 7+ years of sales and customer research experience, including experience in the (re)insurance or financial services industry
- Ability to work well in a global organization/environment with senior level executives
- Ability to implement change effectively within an organization
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement creative solutions to address business requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and remain flexible given changing priorities
- Advanced ability to make timely and effective decision and produce results through strategic planning and the evaluation and implementation of programs and policies
