Assistant Officer (Accounting) (at the rank of General Clerk II) (Ref. 250000D3) (Closing date: March 11, 2025)
The Finance Office is currently seeking a motivated individual to join the Donations and Projects Management Unit as Assistant Officer (Accounting). The appointee will directly report to the Assistant Finance Manager(s)/ Finance Manager(s) and contribute to the efficient and effective project management.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) preparing accounting entries and processing financial documents, such as expenditure applications, payment vouchers and receipt vouchers; (b) managing project accounts, including budget monitoring and compliance with the grantors’ and donors’ financial requirements; (c) preparing project financial statements and reports; (d) handling enquiries from internal and external parties regarding project financial matters; (e) performing general office duties to support the smooth operation of the Unit; and (f) performing additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor(s).
Applicants should have/be (i) completed secondary education; (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B); OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, “Attained” or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; (iii) a Diploma or above in an Accounting discipline from a recognised technical institute; or passed LCCI Level 3 accounting examination; (iv) fast and accurate Chinese and English word-processing skill; (v) at least 5 years’ accounting work experience; (vi) proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word and Excel; (vii) a strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (viii) attentiveness to details and accuracy; and (ix) initiative, self-motivation, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently. Having experience in SAP and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions will be advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
