The Department

Reports directly to the Senior Manager, Tracks for the Tracks daily operations and strategic Tracks projects. The job holder’s physical presence in supervising the Tracks project(s)/ out-sourcing contract(s) is essential.

 

The Job

You Will:

  • Manage Tracks Strategic Projects
    • Conduct strategic projects as assigned by Senior Tracks Management
    • Undertake feasibility study, special projects and duties as assigned
    • Monitor all tracks construction projects and property related areas
  • Ensure racing and training surfaces performance to the required technical specification
    • Provide a consistent and safe track for racing and training
    • Achieve the pre-set racetrack performance criteria under general weather condition
    • Reduce and minimize the impact to tracks under adverse weather condition
  • Sstudy other alternative materials/ practices to enhance the existing Tracks and training facilities
  • Regular review on the possibility to enhance safety environment to jockeys and riders in relation to tracks
  • Regular inspect the tracks and fringe areas to ensure all training facilities are functioning properly and complying with safety standard
  • Monitor expenditure of tracks materials and supply contracts status
  • Support the preparation of tender and specifications for materials supply and casual labour contract
  • Maintain and monitor the asset health of facilities supporting the Tracks and L&H operations
  • Supervise and monitor contractors for outsourced contracts namely divot and plugs turf repair after race meeting & turf trials
  • Implement environmental, health and safety management system as applicable to the tracks operation
  • Act as instructor for tracks training course (e.g tracks construction, irrigation system & practices)
  • Assist to supervise Tracks team independently during the Sha Tin and Happy Valley race meeting when & as required   
  • Support the running of Dirt & Turf Barrier Trial and/or Morning Track work when & as required   

 

About You

You Should Have:

  • Tertiary education in construction, E&M, Building, Civil or related areas
  • Five years of experience in the fields of construction/ building services/ facility management, of which two years should have been in supervisory capacity
  • A high standard of spoken and written English and Chinese.
  • A valid driver's license (obtained at least class 1, 2) is required;
  • Class 18 or above driving license is an advantage
  • Forklift /other machinery operation license is an advantage
  • Solid project/ construction management and site supervision skills
  • Outgoing and willing to work in the field
