JOB SCOPE

The Duty Engineer is to assist the Chief Engineer / Senior Duty Engineer in the daily operations of the Engineering. The position is accountable for the proper maintenance of physical plant, engineering facilities, the interior and exterior of the entire hotel. The position is also responsible for the daily operation of the department, scheduling subordinates in carrying out routine maintenance and overhaul of hotel facilities, mechanical plants, equipment and installations etc.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To be responsible for managing installation, maintenance and repair of the hotel equipment.
  • To coordinate with contractors in carrying out routine maintenance.
  • To review the engineering materials and parts for re-ordering level.
  • To analyze and monitor the consumption of the gas, power and water for hotel utilities and recommend measures to save energy.
  • To record the Engineering Log Book daily and take the corrective action as required.
  • To assess safety and health risks in the work place and take necessary precautions if required.
  • To prepare monthly schedule of equipment Preventive Maintenance (PM) program and to execute the daily PM Schedule and repair works to be carried out accordingly.
  • To ensure prioritized attention to routine repair & maintenance works and complaints.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of vocational training and or at least six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fire-fighting knowledge with recognized certificate
  • Registered Class A Electrician
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • To prepare monthly schedule of equipment Preventive Maintenance (PM) program and to execute the daily PM Schedule and repair works to be carried out accordingly.
  • To ensure prioritized attention to routine repair & maintenance works and complaints.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
