Job Responsibilities: 

  • Curate and maintain an exceptional wine list that reflects the restaurant's culinary offerings and brand identity;
  • Stay up-to-date with wine trends, new releases, and industry news to keep the wine list fresh and relevant;
  • Engage with guests to understand their preferences and make personalized wine recommendations;
  • Provide exceptional wine service, ensuring proper serving techniques and presentation;
  • Organize and lead wine tastings, classes, or special events to promote the wine program to enhance guest engagement;
  • Oversee wine inventory, conduct regular audits and manage wine procurement in a cost-effective manner;
  • Analyse sales data and adjust wine selection and pricing based on demand and market trends;
  • Maintain accurate records related to inventory, purchasing and wine sales;
  • Work closely with Beverage Team for updating all wine aspects and Culinary Team for creating harmonious wine pairings that complement the menu; 
  • Develop and conduct regular training sessions for staff to enhance their knowledge of wine, and foster a culture of enthusiastic wine service among front-of-house team;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding the sale and storage of alcohol.

 

Job Requirements: 

  • Diploma / Degree in Food & Beverage, Hospitality Management, or other related disciplines preferred
  • Certification from a recognized sommelier or wine education program is strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant working experience in a similar role winthin a fine dining environment
  • Extensive knowledge in different wines, spirits and tasting techniques
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on guest interaction and staff training
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with guests and staff
  • Good planning, marketing and promotional skills with ability of strategic analysis to maximize profitability
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Cantonese; fluent in Putonghua is preferred
