Lead and manage the operations and settlement teams to ensure smooth and efficient processing of trades, settlements, and corporate actions.
Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Oversee the reconciliation of trades, positions, and cash balances to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Collaborate with other departments, including trading, risk management, and IT, to optimize operational processes and systems.
Manage relationships with external parties, such as brokers, custodians, and clearinghouses, to ensure seamless settlement processes.
Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to ensure the firm remains competitive and compliant.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to the operations and settlement teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) is a plus.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations and settlement within the securities or financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
In-depth knowledge of securities trading, settlement processes, and regulatory requirements in Hong Kong.
Strong understanding of risk management principles and operational controls.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in using operational and settlement systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is required.
