Responsibilities:
- Manage and support databases in Linux environments and cloud platforms
- Ensure smooth operation, performance, and availability of database systems
- Implement and support infrastructure solutions tailored for trading environments that require stability, high throughput, and low latency
- Optimize database systems to meet the demanding requirements of trading applications
- Assist application teams with database setup, migration, and SQL performance analysis
- Provide expertise to ensure optimal database performance and integration with applications
- Offer recommendations on operating policies, technical architecture, and database system configurations
- Ensure best practices are followed in database management and operations
- Administer and manage various database systems, including Oracle, IBM DB2, PostgreSQL, and GaussDB
- Perform tasks such as monitoring, troubleshooting, installation, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, backup and recovery, stress testing, and capacity planning
- Implement compliance standards and conduct regular system compliance reviews
- Proactively identify and address potential security vulnerabilities and exposure areas
- Maintain high system availability and ensure all database systems function correctly
- Monitor system performance and take corrective actions as needed
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure high-quality delivery and implementation of database solutions
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure support and services meet organizational standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields
- 8 years of experience in enterprise database managing and supporting IBM DB2 / PostgreSQL / GaussDB
- Experience / knowledge of Oracle databases, including:
- Real Application Clusters (RAC)
- Automatic Storage Management (ASM)
- DataGuard
- Data partitioning and load balancing
- JDBC and ODBC integration with J2EE applications
- Proficient in database high availability, security measures, backup and recovery strategies, and performance monitoring standards
- Strong hands-on experience in shell scripting for process improvement and automation
- Familiarity with AWS RDS, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
- Experienced in SQL, PL/SQL, and the development of stored procedures
- Skilled in system programming and administration on Linux platforms
- Proven project management experience in large-scale technology infrastructure implementations
- Proactive with strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and analytical skills
- Innovative and self-driven, with excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
