Assistant Director of Finance (Special Projects and Business Partnering) (23240916)
Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, the Assistant Director of Finance will lead the Special Projects and Business Partnering Team to drive digital transformation and various new initiatives/projects of the Finance Office.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic partner, collaborating with various departments / academic units and offering financial advice to facilitate decision making;
- Drive finance transformation, work closely with other teams to understand and redesign the ERP process flow, including the feasibility study on streamline existing work process flow;
- Collaborate with internal users and external consultants to design, build and implement digital finance workflow;
- Assess and evaluate existing financial processes and policies and identify rooms for improvement;
- Ensure financial systems and processes comply with internal policies and mitigate risks associated with data integrity and cybersecurity;
- Oversee all aspects of financial planning and analysis and system implementation;
- Support special projects with financial model and scenario analysis; and
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- A qualified accountant with a bachelor's degree or above in accounting, business, finance, or a related discipline;
- Extensive experience in process re-engineering and system implementation, along with at least 12 years’ experience in a managerial role, preferably in a sizable organisation;
- Excel in analysis and governance, proven ability to exercise sound oversight of finance operations;
- Strong analytical mind, good interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and ability to face new challenges arise from the change management;
- Strong leadership and organisational skills in coaching, motivating, and retaining talent;
- Ability to work under pressure, independently and meet tight deadlines;
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Mandarin; and
- Proficiency in financial software such as Oracle and Hyperion as well as strong expertise in data analysis tools such as PowerBI, SQL and Python.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of 3 years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
