Your ‘day to day’

You will be employed as Manager, New Product Sourcing Project in Hong Kong under Philip Morris Asia Limited (PMAL). PMAL operates as a subsidiary of Philip Morris International, Inc.

You will …

  • Represent and lead procurement interaction with cross function teams during new product development (NPD) & new product introduction (NPI),
  • Drive procurement activities include leading sourcing activities, ensuring on time delivery of new product vs schedule and capacity/supply readiness for mass production
  • Lead new product costs from development to mass production
  • Act as point of contact of procurement to matrix teams during NPD & NPI phase, lead early sourcing and supplier selection for new products enhancing PMI preferred suppliers and platforms.
  • Lead new product capacity and ensure readiness in time to meet mass production forecast & capacity targets. Capacity management includes planning, activation, monitoring & issue resolution.
  • Lead new product costs from development to mass production. This includes communications with suppliers on part level unit prices, Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) costs for development / mass production capacity, overall management of product level Bill of Material (BOM) cost vs cost target.
  • Drive cost optimization activities for new product. This includes design change & value engineering (Design to Value), cost improvement via negotiation and supplier strategy, process & quality improvement.
  • Identify new product risks, lead problem solving to resolve mass production blocking issues.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • University degree in Engineering Electronics, Mechanical or Business Administration
  • MBA or Masters degree/ Procurement certification/ Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred (green or black belt)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement experience. Experience in new product/ component sourcing and working with contract manufacturers will be advantageous.
  • Demonstrate experience in project management and in establishing robust partnerships internally and externally. Desired expertise in either Mechanical, Electronic or Electromechanical components.
  • Knowledge in new product development process and project management
  • Experience in working on hand-held electronics products will be an added advantage
  • Experience working in a remote team and sophisticated internal collaborators network
  • Fluency in English and Chinese is crucial
