Job Summary


The incumbent will be primarily responsible for providing exceptional support to corporate, FI and treasury clients throughout their lifecycle, mainly including client on-boarding, KYC (“Know Your Customer”) & CDD (“Client Due Diligence”), account maintenance, and facilitating relevant transaction booking and relationship management services. The job holder/s will be acting as the subject matter expert on the first line of defence by effective Know Your Customer, in compliance with all internal and external regulatory policies, procedure and standards related to account opening/maintenance, KYC, AML. They will assist relationship managers in obtaining and verifying all required documentation for Corporate, Treasury and FI customers, conducting necessary analysis, timely and duly completing data entry and name screening in the related bank systems, and documenting applicable due diligence. They will be responsible for monitoring and updating client account information as needed, ensuring timely completion of period review of KYC according to internal KYC policies, and assisting relationship managers and product sales to process deposit, loan, trade finance transactions as well as preparing regular compliance and finance reporting.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities By Dimensions


Shareholder & Financial:

  • Assist in the monitoring and achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on periodic basis.
  • Observes and promotes cost consciousness and efficiency, and enhance productivity, to minimize costs, avoid wastes, and optimize benefits for the bank.
  • Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent and adheres to QNB policies

Customer (Internal & External):

  • Work closely with relationship managers and product sales to provide best-class service and support to our Corporate, FI and Treasury Clients.
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationship with related departments and units, including but not limited to Operation, Compliance, Finance, Risk, Internal Audit, to achieve the Group’s goals/ objectives.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors and the Compliance function as and when required.
  • To assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s accounts, products and seek solution to their requests.
  • Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.


Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):

  • Ensure the completeness of documentation in the opening, review and maintenance of Corporate, Treasury and Financial institutions account relationships, review documentation on all new accounts to ensure proper procedures were followed and red flags were properly followed up and approved.
  • Ensure all KYC, due diligence, AML and other regulatory requirements are met for new accounts.
  • Maintain the safe custody of all documents by filing documents in accordance with the set policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage, in liaison with Relationship Managers, with customers and their representatives in obtaining, verifying and completing the documentary requirements necessary to open and maintain accounts with the Branch.
  • Analysis of KYC and due diligence data in support of Relationship Manager review of customer information, including but not limited to corporate documents, ownership and management information (related party information), source of funds, FATCA, CRS, authorized signers.
  • Timely update of customer files consequent upon periodic risk rated review, monitor and update client account information as needed, including changes in the contact details, ownership structure and other relevant data.
  • Timely submission of documents to central archives, as and when deemed necessary.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Department for the timely closing, archival and, ultimately, disposal of customer files upon the closing of customer accounts.
  • Maintain a register for all customer files and develop a list of files for destruction.
  • Being responsible for inputting required client information into the bank’s core systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data entry.
  • Facilitate deposit transaction booking, call back, signature verification if needed, ensuring accurate processing and timely completion.
  • Assist relationship managers with loan drawdown by collecting necessary documentation from clients and coordinating with relevant internal teams to process.
  • Support trade finance activities to ensure smooth transaction booking.
  • Closely work with other departments to seamlessly streamline internal process and procedure to improve operational efficiency and provide high-quality service to customers.
  • Assist preparing and submitting reports if required.


Learning & Knowledge:

  • Possess knowledge of developments in branch operations processes, controls, rules/ regulations and best practices, as applicable.
  • Undertake to learn the full remit of KYC retirements in the country and undertake to remain current of current and future requirements as they are announced.
  • Takes responsibility for self-development as well as acquiring skills and knowledge required to fulfilment of one's duties by proactively identifying areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities
  • Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field


Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including, but not limited to, Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).
  • Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify measure, monitor, manage and report risks.
  • Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.
  • Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the Operational Risk Management requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role.
  • Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence.


Other:

  • Ensure high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
  • Maintaining utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business and provide such information on a need to know basis only to Senior Management of QNB, Audit and Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators.
  • All other ad hoc duties/activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time.


Education/Experience Requirements:

  • University graduate preferably with a Major in Finance, Banking, Economics, Mathematics or Business Administration (related field of study),
  • At least 5 to 7 years relevant experience in the banking industry, preferably with a large local / International Bank.


Required Special Skills:

  • Knowledge of the relevant regulatory requirements and best practices relating to account opening/ closing/service.
  • Knowledge of relevant KYC and other Anti-Money Laundering (AML) directives/ rules and regulations and best practices. Risk Conscious with emphasis on sensitive data sharing.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and ability to recognise patterns
  • Familiar with client onboarding process and related best practices used in client data entry to the bank’s systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in English and National Language of the country, which we operate in.
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Good planning, organizing and analytical ability.
  • Detail and customer service oriented.


Framework and Boundaries:

  • Relevant regulatory pronouncements of the applicable local and international regulators and related best practices (including AML/ KYC).
  • Delegated and re-delegated authorities as per the delegation of authorities’ structure.

Communications and Working Relationships:

  • Instructions from Heads of Corporate & Institutional Banking, Treasury, Private Banking and Compliance
  • Frequent contact with Corporate & Institutional Banking, Treasury, Private Banking and Retail banking personnel and Compliance.
  • Liaison with relevant IT personnel and other support departments/ units, as and when required.
