OBI Group Sourcing is the sourcing unit for the OBI Group in Asia. Its key responsibility is the scouting, sourcing, quality assurance as well as organising the corresponding logistics for products sourced in Asia. Beside the main offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai , an additional representative office is located in Ho Chi Minh City .
Responsibilities:
Sourcing:
- Review and optimize the existing supplier portfolio based on customer / assortment needs
- Execute the sourcing strategy and overlook the entire Asian supplier base
- Supplier Risk Management
- Drive the strategy for sourcing and manufacturing OBI’s private label products
- Prepare and conduct annual supplier reviews
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with our suppliers
- Facilitate the exchange between Category Management and suppliers
- Overlook the supplier portfolio, monitor the performance actively manage the portfolio
- Challenge suppliers on optimizing the cost, quality and lead-time
- Prepare capacity and volume forecasts and negotiate cost
End to End Stakeholder Management
- Contribute on assortment development concepts
- Build and maintain good relationship with Category Management and understand their needs and offer customized solutions.
- Product assortment: Determine & analyze the variety and quantity of products within the category to meet customer demand and provide proposals for Category Management.
- Optimize the end to end supply chain process within the respective areas
- Secure the supplier network in Asia and define adjustment needs
- Develop solutions to optimize cost, quality and lead-times
- Observe market and country developments
- Pro-actively suggest optimization potentials
Team development
- Manage and coach team subordinates: Responsible for department management, such as communication, evaluation, coaching
- Ensure company strategy is shared and understood,
- Encourage continuous learning and coaching of product knowledge, market practice, quality standards etc.
- Focus on our staff’s career development with a path
- Set up an analytical and result oriented work atmosphere

Requirement:
- Bachelor Degree or above with at least 2 years of experience in trading / sourcing / merchandising at a managerial level
- Profound knowledge of exporting DIY products, according to European standards
- Strong analytical skills with a results-driven approach to problem-solving
- Excellent customer orientation and a keen interest in industry trends
- Openness to change and innovative thinking
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for leadership and teamwork
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Strong command of English and Mandarin
- Good at PC knowledge including MS office and ERP skills
