Job Description: Child and Adolescent Counselor/Mental Health Therapist (Bilingual: English and Mandarin)
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and highly skilled Child and Adolescent Counselor/Mental Health Therapist who is fluent in both English and Mandarin. The ideal candidate will provide individual, group, and family therapy to children and adolescents experiencing a variety of emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Counseling:
- Provide evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy to children and adolescents, focusing on their unique developmental and cultural needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on clinical assessments.
- Address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, behavioral concerns, family conflict, and academic or social difficulties.
- Bilingual Support:
- Offer culturally sensitive counseling sessions in both English and Mandarin, ensuring effective communication with clients and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Provide translation support or cultural insight when collaborating with non-Mandarin-speaking colleagues.
- Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments using approved tools and methods.
- Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaboration and Advocacy:
- Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, pediatricians, and other professionals to coordinate care and advocate for clients’ needs.
- Provide psychoeducation to parents and caregivers, equipping them with tools to support their child’s mental health and well-being.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
- Stay up-to-date on mental health best practices, cultural competency, and ethical guidelines.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education and Licensure:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a Member of the Hong Kong Professional Counseling Association , Licensed Play Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a clinical setting.
- Experience in multicultural counseling and knowledge of issues affecting Mandarin-speaking communities is highly preferred.
- Language Skills:
- Fluency in English and Mandarin (both written and verbal) is required.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
- Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, play therapy, family systems therapy, or trauma-focused therapy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural sensitivity and empathy.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Pay: $11,265.05 - $34,777.59 per month
