We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Student Affairs Office:

Assistant Student Affairs Manager (SAO) (Ref: 25000FW)

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Assisting in overseeing a portfolio of responsibilities focused on strengthening student development, nurturing student leadership, and enriching campus life, with a particular emphasis on supporting non-local students, diversity and inclusion initiatives and student accommodation;
  • Supporting the planning and implementation of services, programmes and events focused on students’ experiential learning, including advising student mentors and student organisations, cultural adaptation and anti-deception support for non-local students;
  • Contributing to the management of diversity and inclusion initiatives to promote student integration and foster an inclusive campus;
  • Managing off-campus accommodations and residential life to foster a supportive and inclusive living and learning environment for students;
  • Supervising junior colleagues to ensure the provision of quality services and programmes implementation;
  • Assisting in handling student emergency cases and providing support for critical incident management;
  • Collaborating with Schools, Offices, and SAO teams to enhance and evaluate students’ holistic experiences;
  • Providing administrative and secretarial support to committees/task forces as assigned; and
  • Performing any other duties as assigned.

The appointee may be required to work beyond normal office hours as needed.

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A recognized degree with at least 5 years’ relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in student affairs, tertiary education, or related fields;
  • Experience in student engagement, leadership development, or student support services such as non-local student services, student accommodation and residential life is advantageous;
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with proficiency in both Mandarin and English;
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and capable of working independently and collaboratively; and
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Applicants with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Student Affairs Officer.

Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
