The applicant must possess:

  • A recognised degree, majoring construction safety / engineering / property management or other related disciplines
  • A valid Safety Officer Registration Certificate issued by the Labour Department and a valid First Aid Certificate; candidates with qualifications or experience in safety auditing, safety management (OHSAS 18001or ISO45001), and 5S managements systems preferred
  • No less than 5 years’ working experience in site safety, construction projects or property management safety after obtaining relevant academic and professional qualifications;
    ability to closely monitor site safety and occupational health and safety, identify unsafe / non-compliant behaviours, and provide immediate corrective suggestions, as well as compile safety reports and daily work reports
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and spoken Chinese and English; and
    proactive, able to handle tasks independently, and can work as a team.

Duties include:

  • To assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the safety management and systems of the campuses and outdoor training grounds of Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC)
  • To be responsible for daily safety inspections, operational training and compiling inspection reports for campuses and outdoor training grounds
  • To provide regular construction safety and occupational health and safety training for HKIC staff
  • To supervise the safety matters of construction / addition / alteration / renovation projects and events carried out at the campuses and outdoor training grounds
  • To coordinate the work of relevant departments within the campuses and outdoor training grounds to ensure the implementation of appropriate safety measures
  • To regularly review and enhance the safety measures of the campuses and outdoor training grounds; propose and report corrective / improvement plans
  • To compile safety reports, assist in asset management procurement
  • To carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.
