About the Role:

Join our dedicated team working on a vital Smoking Cessation Programme for locals, ethnic minorities and new arrivals in Hong Kong. As a Health Officer, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals quit smoking and improving community health.

Responsibilities:

  • This role involves a variety of tasks related to smoking cessation services, including:
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Building and maintaining relationships with NGOs, community groups, businesses, institutions, and individuals to identify collaboration opportunities and promote smoking cessation initiatives.
  • Counseling and Case Management: Providing individual counseling, developing personalized cessation plans, and conducting regular follow-up sessions with clients.
  • Smoking Cessation Support: Administering nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and/or behavioral therapy under appropriate supervision.
  • Health Promotion: Developing and delivering health education materials, conducting health talks, and implementing outreach programs to raise awareness about smoking cessation.
  • Location: The position requires flexibility to work across multiple locations, including Tin Shui Wai, Tai Po, Kwun Tong, Jordan, and various outreach locations. Rotation among locations may be required.

Requirements:

  • University degree in medical science, health science, public health, health communication, healthcare management, community health, counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in a clinical setting or with drug management is an advantage.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and passionate about community engagement, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written Cantonese and English.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
