Social Media & Demand Generation Manager (HK)


As the Social Media & Demand Generation Manager, you will contribute to the planning, execution, and analysis of B2B marketing programs for our technology client. You will play a key role in driving customer engagement and brand awareness through impactful events and targeted social campaigns. A core responsibility will be managing, monitoring, and growing our client's Facebook page in Hong Kong, cultivating a community of followers, advocates, and potential customers.


This role involves a balanced approach, with 50% of your focus on expanding the Facebook community and 50% dedicated to planning, executing, and analysing B2B marketing programs, particularly those involving events and social media strategy. You will drive and deliver excellence in all aspects of social media, from strategic planning and content development to campaign support.


You will be instrumental in a broader regional team that boldly ventures into new waters to deliver more disruptive and impactful work. This means trialling new modes and ways to grow social engagements as the world of social media and how our target audiences experience and consume content evolve. Role:


Social Media:

  • Manage the day-to-day workflow of local social media channels (including content creation, monitoring, and reporting) to drive growth and engagement on the channels.
  • Actively manage and grow the social channels, while building strong relationships with power users in the local developer ecosystem and influencers to foster a friendly and engaging online community.
  • Source and curate content to highlight company events, partnerships, case studies, product tips, product developments, etc. This will involve working across cross-functional teams to highlight key moments.
  • Manage local social channels bilingually with a global perspective, adeptly translating messaging between English and the local language and ensuring content is both accurate and culturally relevant for diverse local and global audiences.
  • Be an expert on local usage of social media and the local audience of our users.
  • Own, understand, and report on social health and successes, including analysing quantitative and qualitative feedback to identify trends and insights into user needs.
  • Partner with local regional stakeholders to drive the development of the brand in the market.


Demand Generation:

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of customer-focused marketing events, including logistics management, vendor coordination, and on-site execution.
  • Develop and manage event timelines and resources, ensuring events are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Oversee event setup, registration, and post-event follow-up, ensuring a positive business impact.
  • Track and analyse event and social media performance metrics, and provide regular reports on key findings and insights.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, goal setting, and reporting.
  • Work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to develop work plans and execute marketing campaigns; identify, track, execute, and follow up on tasks and issues to ensure campaigns are delivered on time and with quality.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, including but not limited to marketing events, scaled communications, and creative asset production.


You:

  • Degree in Business, Communications, or Marketing preferred, or equivalent industry experience
  • 8+ years of experience in tech, marketing or related industries and a proven track record in social media strategy and event management
  • A strategic and creative thinker who can navigate the ever-evolving social landscape
  • Able to positively influence diverse stakeholders and galvanise them on the social agenda and mission of the brand
  • Ability to work with local and geographically dispersed stakeholders to deliver clear instructions and directions
  • Experience infusing thought leadership and differentiation into communications strategies.
  • Expertise in Social Media management across all channels (marketing and monitoring). Specifically Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Understanding of B2B technology.
  • Experience creating and editing content for social media; ability to translate complex ideas into user-friendly, conversational communications and instructions.
  • Solid project management experience, with an ability to bring both order and attention to detail
  • Experience with social media publishing tools like Sprinklr
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
  • A fiery passion for all things social
  • Ability to communicate effectively - in written and verbal forms
  • Passionate about working as part of a larger team to deliver on a common goal
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills and - ideally - fluent in another Asian language to cover projects spanning across JAPAC markets.
